Java Wood Products

Occasionally some new products appear that are genuinely original and innovative.  This year we have seen 2 such ranges of products.  Firstly Hagen launched the Exo-Terra range of reptile products and now we have the new range of Java Wood products for reptiles, small animals and birds. 

Java wood products are made from the wood of Coffee Trees that have been cut down prior to replanting the plantations.  Usually the trees would be burned but an innovative carpenter now collects the trees before they are burned and turns them into a range of decorative and hardwearing products.

First the trees are trimmed and the bark removed.  They are then baked for a month to dry the wood and harden it.  Finally they are shaped and carved to produce the Java Wood range of products.  By the end of the process the wood is very hard and smooth.  This makes it very easy to clean and very hardwearing, even resisting the attention of a large parrot beak! Products that require waterproofing or protecting are treated with a special non-toxic coating to make them easier to clean.  Despite the unique nature of these products they are all very competitively priced.

 

Java Reptile Branch

How long have we been waiting for a product like this?  Not only are these branches attractive and unique but each one is specially shaped so that the stand firmly on 3 points.  These branches are set to become THE cage decoration of choice.

Java Hideout (natural)

These hides are ideal for use with all reptiles and amphibians.  They provide essential security for animals and are heavy enough to stay where you put them. Add their natural look and keen pricing and they are hard to beat

Why not add something exotic to your vivarium?  These hideouts are the same as the natural ones but each one has had an animal carved into it.  They are then varnished to give them a truly stunning look.  Because each carving is done by hand every hide is unique.

 

Java Dish

These bowls are treated with a special non toxic coating to make them water proof and easy to clean.  They can be used can be used for food or water and are suitable for small mammals, reptiles, birds, etc.

Java Multibranch

All birdkeepers know how vital it is to provide perches allow the correct exercising of a birds foot and leg muscles.  Until now a concrete perch would have been used.  Multibranches however allow the correct exercising but with a natural and attractive product.  Each perch comes with cage fixings.

Java Playhouse

A treat for all small mammals and some reptiles, the Java Playhouse provides essential stimulation.  Each Playhouse is drilled to provide a network of tunnels and encourages natural exploration and playfulness.  Available with or without an integral feed/water bowl.  

 

Java Trees

These trees are mainly for use with Parrots and other birds. They range from the "Mini Tree" at only 60 cm or so to the large "Java Tree" which can be up to 150cm tall!  They are available on carved wooden bases, slate bases or with no base.  They also make great outdoor features to hang bird feeders on. (the picture shows a large Java tree with a  carved base and a large tower toy)

Java Toys

Designed to provide hours of fun, Java Toys come in coloured or plain and are made from baked Java wood, Bamboo or both. Because of the hardness of the materials they will resist the attention of even the largest parrot for some considerable time.  Only safe dyes are used on the coloured toys and any rope ends are teased out to prevent bill and claw snagging.

Java Hut

A simple hide.  Attractive but functional and very easy to clean.  This can be used with Reptiles, Amphibians or small mammals.
